Institute of Public Policy

The Institute of Public Policy (IPP) is a leading Research Institute at AUT University, Auckland, New Zealand. It has an established track record in public policy and economic and social development.

We organise our work around three key areas:

  • Research and Consultancy
  • Teaching (including professional development) and Post Graduate Research Supervision
  • Work in the Public Interest

We conduct research around the major areas of:

  • Public policy
  • Economic development
  • Community investment and development
  • Social development
  • Governance and local government
  • Auckland's regional development
  • Pacific studies

Our staff come from varying disciplines and are committed to multidisciplinary, team-based and user-lead approaches to research and development.

This approach sees us partnering and collaborating across the university and with practitioners, professionals and academics from a wide array of organisations outside of the university.
